What have I learned in the poetry unit and from that project that is valuable to me?It's going to be a general thing, but I think it really helped me to be more self-confident. At the beginning of the unit I was feeling like I would be the most unsuccessful poet in the world. Still I'm not sure if my poems are so good, but at least I feel more comfortable about writing poetry. I explored the world of imagery and loved it.

What/Who helped me grow and work through the unit’s/project’s challenges?Starting with baby steps and going slowly is the thing that helped me most in the poetry unit. Also we saw different kinds of poems, such as; painting poem, limerick, nursery rhyme, extended metaphor poem, haiku, found poem, recipe poem, spoken word poem. The unit became more creative and attractive for me with the help of these different types of poems. And I believe I should thank Mrs. Rau for guiding us through the unit and putting her best effort on doing the unit much more fun than I expected.

How did I feel about poetry before the poetry unit started and how do I feel (as a poet) now?Due to my unsuccessful attempts on reading and writing poetry in Turkish, I thought writing or even reading poetry in English would be my nightmare. But fortunately, muses of poetry in English were with me through the whole process. I really like writing poetry now. And along with playing the piano, it became the thing that I want to do according to the changes in my mood.
